West Side Community House has provided services to children and youth since 1890. Current programs are geared toward building strong educational values, self-esteem, self-discipline and independence. We provide children with the opportunity to learn and grow in preparation of becoming self-sufficient adults and to recognize their fullest potential. Please take a look at our Sisterhood and Summer of Sisterhood programs located at West Side Community House, 9300 Lorain Avenue, and H Barbara Booker School Wrap School located at 2121 West 67th Street to learn more.

Summer of Sisterhood had a very successful 9th season, producing a memorable performance, five original songs, and an MP.  This year, for their creative concept, they expressed their feelings about who they are and what their challenges are today.  They hope to build empathy, tolerance, and awareness in the community by broadening people’s understanding of what it is to be a young, urban female living without the supports and resources that so many take for granted.
